Please don't forget our "OBX Beach Sampler Social" in the Currituck Room at 6:00, after the clinic! Come and hear Mr. Jerry Salandro! A wonderful way to culminate an information-filled week-end!
Goals of the OBX Clinic:
As high school football coaches, we began this clinic with three basic goals in mind:
1) Make it as affordable as possible. We need young coaches to continue to instruct our youngsters as to the benefits of this great game. We want them not to have to take out a loan to listen to colleagues and to network with others. We do not want to forget the veteran coaches either. Our hourly wage makes us rich in affection and passion for our program and kids, but provides little for our professional growth expense accounts!
2) To give coaches the opportunity to hear a myriad of qualified coaches on several topics of their choosing.
3) Provide coaches with the opportunity to include their families as part of the clinic experience. To let them know how very special they are to each of us.More on BFS:
Bigger Faster Stronger, Inc., the nation’s leader in athletic fitness will conduct a Strength and Conditioning Certification Clinic in conjunction with the OBX Football Clinic.* Sessions will be held at Manteo High School. Transportation will be provided for all coaches. Lunch will be delivered to you at Manteo High School. The curriculum comprises the latest, most current techniques developed by BFS.
For over 30 years, BFS has been the number one source of information on strength and conditioning for the nations’ athletes and coaches. BFS founder and CEO Dr. Greg Shepard encourages all coaches and instructors who supervise programs of strength and conditioning to become certified for these reasons:
Liability
Education
Confidence
Career
For just $149 (Practical Certification) per coach or $99 (Theory Certification-complete at any time) per coach, this clinic affords you the opportunity to have all your coaches and physical education instructors certified as BFS Total Program Coaches, bring the latest in training techniques back to your school, and empower your athletes.
Many schools consider this certification so important that they fund the fees for their coaches and instructors to attend using money from the district’s tuition fund.
To register your applicants, call Lance at 877-214-6060 and give him your purchase order number or credit card information. Lance will be happy to answer any of your questions.
On a scale of one to ten, how good a coach do you want to be? BFS says, “Choose to Be An 11!”
Lance Neven, BFS Southeast Director
*You must register with the OBX Football Clinic to be eligible for BFS certification classes and to get the clinic rates for hotel, meal packages and socials. A BSF representative will hold two sessions on strength training at the clinic on Friday night prior to the certification classes held on Saturday. Come early and enjoy the entire clinic!!Questions?
Should you have any questions related to the 2007 OBX Football Clinic, please do not hesitate to post your question(s) on this site or call one of us. We will be glad to answer any and all questions.

To Bing, Rex, and Walt,
Excellent clinic! The speakers I heard were very good. I feel I received something from each that I will be able to implement here at home. I have decided to orger all your DVDs because I am sure I missed something with the speakers I was not able to hear. Looking forward to next year!
Clinic was good. I really enjoy myself for my first time. I plan on coming next year and bring more staff along.
I'm glad that you got things that you can use. For that DVD, just send a check to the address on your order form. Please make check payable to: OBX Football Clinic. I will be posting that information tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the note!
We're very happy that you had a good experience this year (your first). We look forward to having all coaches and their wives return in 2008! We look forward to seeing you AND your staff at next year's clinic! Thanks!
I would like to thank Rex, Bing, and Walt for going above and beyond the call of duty. I also realize their coaching staff and famlies were involved, Great job guys! The clinic was outstanding; my family and I enjoyed ourselves immensely.
I am recommending this coaching clinic to any coach who wants HIS program to be better. I'll be back next year.
Hal Capps - Western Alamance H.S.
Coach Capps,
Thank you for your kind words and thank you for your great presentation! Speakers like you are what makes or breaks a clinic. We are indebted to you and Coach Snuffer for making the trek to the Outer Banks to share a little Piedmont Football! We look forward to seeing you in Greensboro, if not before.
It was indeed a privilege and a pleasure to have the opportunity to speak at obx 07, but what I am really thankful for are the speakers that I got to hear and the tremendous amount of information I was exposed to during clinic. I also want to thank Walt, Bing and Rex for the first class clinic that they, their staffs, and families hosted. It speaks volumes about the esteem in which you hold our profession. Know that your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Greg Watford-Hertford County
One of the better and more well-rounded clinics I've been to in some time. This was my first year to this clinic and I look forward to next years clinic where I'll definitely make every effort to attend.
Any dates set for next year? I would to get my calender set, and want to make sure this clinic is on the agenda.
When can we expect to recive the DVD's from the clinic? Also would like to say I enjoyed this clinic and have every intention of being there next year.
I thought the clinic was outstanding and well worth the travel down from Ohio. Always nice to get away for a few days, and to be able to enjoy the Outer Banks while talking football is difficult to beat. The agenda included a great range of speakers and I picked up several great ideas to fold into our existing system. I'm already looking forward to returning next year and hopefully bringing more members of our staff with me.
Kevin Loadman - Riverside High School (DeGraff, Ohio)
When should we expect to get the DVDs that we already paid for?
Thanks,
I posted the comment above Here is my email mbkfootball@yahoo.com I want to know when should we expect our DVDs?
Again, a great clinic, already looking forward to next year.
Question: Any approximate timetable on the turn-around with the DVDs? Looking forward to them.
Ive called all three numbers on the website for the three people in charge of the clinic and left messages at all three. I have heard nothing back.
Does anyone in the know have a rough estimate of when the DVDs will be completed? I can imagine that this is a huge undertaking and can certainly understand the time necessary to get the product completed. Still, it would be informative to have a general idea of when one might expect them to be completed.
Great Clinic again and I am looking forward to the DVD's. Any idea on the time frame for when we can expect to receive them. I am aware that others have e-mailed the same question but thought I might voice my concern as well.
Thanks. Lookng forward to getting some type of response.
Received my DVD's last week. Thanks, they are great.
Are there any plans for a clinic in 2008?
Want to get it on the schedule as soon as possible!
When is there going to be any info on '08's clinic?
Looking foward to the '08 Clinic!
See http://obxfootballcoachesclinic2008.blogspot.com for this year's clinic information. Sorry about the delays in the DVD's. It was new to us and it took some time to work out the cliches. We look forward to seeing you all in March!!
Glad to see this clinic returning. With Walt's move and Bing's health, I was wondering if it would continue...Rex must be doing the 'lion's share'!
Can you post where I can send Bing a card?
Looking forward to the beach and the knowledge!
Are we going to be able to register from your blogsite?
Registration Forms??
Yes, you can now print out your registration, fill it out, and send it to Coach Mitchell. Please see the link on the right side of the blog (at beginning/top). Thanks.
